Movement
Senior Mobility & Ease
Keeping everyday movement comfortable for an older dog, using their existing routine.
What it is
Keeping everyday movement comfortable for an older dog, using their existing routine.
Why we created it
Stiffness and muscle loss aren’t ‘just ageing’ and are worth noticing early.
Goal
Comfortable everyday movement, preserved.
Before you begin
You’ll need
- Your dog’s existing, veterinarian-compatible routine.
What you’ll do
Your first session
- Note the movements your dog does comfortably now, and daily tasks like getting up, turning and walking.
- Keep the established routine rather than adding slopes, pace or repetitions.
- Note next-day comfort, appetite, any weight or muscle concerns and willingness.
Things to notice
- Getting up, turning and walking.
- Next-day comfort.
- Appetite, weight and muscle.
When to stop or get help
- Known or suspected arthritis, pain, limping, neurological change, a real mobility limit or worsening recovery needs your veterinary team’s plan.
- Any feeding or activity instructions from your veterinarian still apply.
About this guide
Age alone doesn’t clear a dog for more exercise. This guide doesn’t increase load.
Progress gradually and pause if your dog shows discomfort or reluctance.
Adapted into plain language from Nara’s prepared protocol material. It is general information, not a diagnosis or veterinary prescription, and it doesn’t report trial results.
