Return to Activity

Easing back into activity after an ordinary, non-medical break.

What it is

Easing back into activity after an ordinary, non-medical break.

Why we created it

What your dog manages now matters more than what they used to do.

Goal

A comfortable routine now, with small steps toward what was normal before.

Before you begin

You’ll need

  • A note of the activity that is comfortable for your dog today.

What you’ll do

Your first session

  1. Write down what ordinary activity is comfortable now.
  2. Start with — and repeat — that easy routine.
  3. Record recovery, willingness and anything unusual about the day.
  4. Only consider one small change at a time; keep the option to reduce or pause.

Things to notice

  • Recovery after activity.
  • Willingness.
  • Context such as weather or a busy day.

When to stop or get help

  • New pain or limping, or unexplained intolerance or decline — seek veterinary advice.
  • Collapse, breathing difficulty or being unable to walk needs urgent veterinary care.
  • Any feeding or activity instructions from your veterinarian still apply.
About this guide

Not for recovery from surgery, illness or injury. No promise of regaining former fitness, and no universal comeback schedule.

Progress gradually and pause if your dog shows discomfort or reluctance.

Adapted into plain language from Nara’s prepared protocol material. It is general information, not a diagnosis or veterinary prescription, and it doesn’t report trial results.
